Heating Installation

A new heating system is the primary component of home comfort. At the end of the day, our primary job in this business is to heat your home to a comfortable temperature on the coldest days.

A new heating system is an investment in that most basic necessity. And we want you to be sure you get everything you’re looking for out of it.

To that end, we aim to provide solutions that meet your budget in the short term with the initial investment, as well as evaluate how we may lower your utility bills with more efficient equipment.

The two primary ingredients of a job done right are: Quality Equipment and Quality Installation.

Our Process

Before we can recommend a heating system, we need to evaluate your home.

The key elements are:

  • Understanding the existing infrastructure: Do you have vents, radiators or something else? If it’s radiators, are they cast iron or copper fin? Hot water or steam? Gas or Oil?  If you don’t have any idea, that’s okay! We will help explain the dynamics of how your home is heated and offer solutions based on your needs and expectations.
  • Heat Loss: How much heat does your home lose on the coldest days? We will do an expert calculation to determine the correct size equipment so that we are fulfilling our primary obligation to heat your home on the coldest days. This leads us to the next step:
  • Equipment Size Selection: This is critical to a system succeeding or failing. Questions we will answer in our evaluation: If you have forced air, how much air can your vents carry and how much air does the system want to move? Is there a conflict? Do we need to make adjustments to the ducts around the furnace? For a hot water system, what size piping do we have around the boiler? If it’s steam, what is the complete square footage of the radiators? These and many other questions are evaluated by our sales professional when they visit your home to ensure we have the right size equipment.

Once we have these elements in place, we can work with you on presenting options that make sense for you and your home.Together, we’ll look at:

  • Brand selection: Sometimes overlooked, this is a critical piece of the process. Sometimes homeowners choose to save money with a cheap brand. What they don’t see are the long term costs for repairs and premature replacement. A cheap system will cost you more in the long run than a quality brand. We stick with brand we can trust.
  • Efficiency: If you invest in more efficient equipment (equipment that uses less electricity or gas mostly), you are likely going to pay a little more upfront. Helping to assess the long term impact of that efficiency and if it makes sense for you to make the additional investment now for long term savings is a part of our job in helping you through the decision making process.
  • Installation method: This is gametime for us and our favorite part of the process. We get to show you how a professional installation helps ensure your equipment is optimized for the long term. Our team is happy to explain the ins and outs of what we will be doing and why. For example, why did we move the boiler pump to the supply side? Why did we add turning vanes to the return elbow? We pay attention to details large and small to present to you a beautifully installed piece of equipment.

Our entire process, from the first time we walk up and view your home to our install technician packing up his truck at the end of the day, is designed to offer you a no risk solution for your new heating system.
