The greatest invention of the 20th century is, hands down, home air conditioning. Gone are the days of humid, sweaty nights with a fan blowing hot air on you. Gone are the days of senseless arguing with your spouse because you’re so uncomfortable. Gone are the days of needing to flee for the summer to Maine for relief (but still a good idea if you can make it happen!).
We can condition your home to remove heat and humidity to provide cool, conditioned air to individual rooms or the entire house.
Existing Systems
If you have an existing AC system you’re familiar with the luxury.
For an existing system, if you feel like it’s in need of replacement, please reach out to us and we will be happy to evaluate your needs. Maybe another provider has told you it’s time to change the system. Please talk to us first! A lot of these bigger companies push unnecessary replacements because they need the revenue to satisfy their sales goals. We will never approach you or a project under that pretense.
If you need a second opinion, call us. Our tech can diagnose the system and give you a second opinion that you can trust.
New AC
If you don’t have AC and want to add it to your home, there are several options to bring that dream to fruition. We offer substantial industry experience and knowledge about different types of air conditioning systems you can add to your home. Our consultant will meet with you to discuss your needs and evaluate your home and offer a detailed proposal for solutions that work.
What types of AC Systems do you Install?
- We install new and replace traditional AC systems (outdoor condenser, indoor air handler or coil)
- We install new and replace Mini-splits (Ductless systems)
- We install new and replace High Velocity Systems (small duct systems that are great for adding AC to an older home)
If you are looking to move forward with us on you AC Installation process, here’s what you can expect:
Our Process:
Before we can recommend a new or replacement cooling system, we need to evaluate your home.
The key elements are:
- Existing Ductwork and Airflow: Oddly enough, airflow is something that not all companies consider. They are focused on “swapping boxes.” We approach our replacements with an eye on airflow. We’ll look at the ductwork we can see to evaluate air flow through the system. We’ll consider the size of the blower that we plan to install to make sure the ductwork can support that level of airflow. This is critical for new equipment to function properly.
- Equipment Size Selection: For new or existing systems, we’ll recommend a size based on our heat load calculation. This answers the fundamental question: How many BTUs of heat do you need to remove from your house on the hottest days to make your home comfortable. We generally look at that as cooling the home to 75 degrees on a 95 degree day but there can be flexibility there depending on the specific situation and set up.
Once we have these elements in place, we can work with you on presenting options that make sense for you and your home.Together, we’ll look at:
- Brand selection: Sometimes overlooked, this is a critical piece of the process. Sometimes homeowners choose to save money with a cheap brand. What they don’t see are the long term costs for repairs and premature replacement. A cheap system will cost you more in the long run than a quality brand. We stick with brand we can trust.
Brands we install
- Trane
- Mitsubishi
- Unico
- Bosch
Efficiency: If you invest in more efficient equipment (equipment that uses less electricity to cool), you are likely going to pay a little more upfront. Helping to assess the long term impact of that efficiency and if it makes sense for you to make the additional investment now for long term savings is a part of our job in helping you through the decision making process.
Installation method: This is gametime for us and our favorite part of the process. We get to show you how a professional installation helps ensure your equipment is optimized for the long term and prevents any unnecessary problems. Our team is happy to explain the ins and outs of what we will be doing and why. We pay attention to details large and small to present to you a beautifully installed piece of equipment.
Our entire process, from the first time we walk up and view your home to our install technician packing up his truck at the end of the day, is designed to offer you a no risk solution for your new cooling system.
