An annual maintenance is one of the single best investments you can make. Consider that maintenance can extend the life of equipment for years, possibly doubling the lifespan of the equipment from 10 years to 20 years. That’s like getting a free system over the course of its life.
Just as important, an AC maintenance will boost the efficiency of your system. Clean coils and filters are what optimize the efficiency of your unit so the maintenance can usually pay for itself year after year in terms of energy savings.
For newer equipment, manufacturers generally require you to do maintenance to guarantee their parts warranty.
What we all want to avoid are sudden breakdowns in the middle of summer. Our maintenance will cover all major components, from checking refrigerant levels, electrical components, airflow and temperature splits along among other things.
On the maintenance visit, we complete an exhaustive checklist of items to make sure we’ve prepared your system to do its job. We can also get ahead of any potential issues by providing you with an analysis that details any major or minor issues that you may want to address.
The outside unit, generally called the condenser, has various motors and capacitors. These are the usual components that fail over time and leave you stuck without AC. We will test those electrical components for integrity and if they are coming up short, we can offer a simple and affordable pre-emptive fix so you’re not stuck when it gets hot out.
Have you ever heard from your neighbors or experienced yourself a company charging $450 to replace a capacitor (the device on the condenser that “jump starts” the compressor and fan)? This is very common in our industry and though that’s an overpriced quote for simple fix, there’s a formula for it that includes the travel time of the technician. If we can catch a weak capacitor while we are out on our maintenance, we can change that for substantially less because we are already there, the labor isn’t that much and the part is relatively inexpensive. If you are a Partner Club Service member, we will do it for even less.
An AC maintenance is a great time to consider upgrades as well such as an air purifier or Wifi Thermostat. Many times our technicians can install those items while they are there for your maintenance, so be sure to ask!
If you are a member of our Partner Service Plan, good news, your AC maintenance is included in your membership. For non members, we offer a reasonable rate to have one of our technicians come out and get you ready for summer.
